Part Three



                   It started to pour as I drove down the highway to the familiar road, making it hard to see. I kept on going because all I could think about was Jake.. my Jake.. what if he was hurt and needed my help? Impossible, Sam would've told me, I tried to convince myself but failing like usual. I turned off the familiar highway and found a large wolf waiting for me on the side of the road. I jumped a little when I saw it, but laughed at myself after. I stopped the motorcycle, put the kickstand up and walked over to Sam. His fur was wet from the rain that was coming down without sign of stopping. "Ew, you smell like wet dog." I said making a face. He made the familiar barking laugh. It made me miss Jacob even more. We set off through the dark forest. I didn't even notice how late it was until we were in the forest. I took out the cell phone to check the time, 9:04 P.M... I have to call Edward soon. Sam had to make an effort to keep up with me.. but it wasn't because I was going fast. He tilted his head towards his back, and made a weird face, I couldn't understand him. "I don't understand." I said, and he ran off into the woods. He came back as a human.. I must of missed something important. "Bella, the only way we'll get to him before dawn is if you ride on my back." he said. "What?!" I said "Are you sure that's a good idea, I weight more thank I look."
"Bella, I think I can handle it." he said smirking. "Wait, as a wolf or as a human?" I asked him, with a confused look. "It's up to you, which ever is more comfortable." he said. "Um, I prefer human.. less chance of falling off." I said smiling at him. "Okay, get on." he said, getting down on one knee. I climb up his back, put my arms around his neck and wrapped my legs around his waist. He held my legs and started to run. Not as fast as Edward I thought. After a while I had to close my eyes because they started to water. When we arrived at the field, I saw a dark figure sitting on the ground in the distance. I jumped off Sam's back and ran to the figure, hoping it was Jacob but Sam beat me to it. As I got closer, I realized it was Jacob.. but he was crying. I ran up to him and flung my arms around him.. moving to hug him but instead our lips met. He kissed me passionately, wrapping is arms around my waist and pulling me closer. It was the longest kiss I'd ever had with Jacob.. when he finally loosened his death grip, I moved away. "Jacob.." I said feeling a little awkward. He laughed at my expression, and hugged me. I wiped off his wet face, "Were you crying?" I asked him curiously. "Yes.." he admitted unwillingly. "Why?" I asked, tilting my head a little. "Bella.. I can't stand loosing you." he said, looking down at the ground. "Jacob.. " I said sighing, "You know it's up to you if I see you after...." I let the sentence trail off not wanting to bring that topic up "I know Bella.. It's just everything is so boring without saving your butt every day." he said smiling at me. "Hey! Its not that often." I said smiling back at him, happy that I cheered him up. "Jacob.. I'm sorry that Edward did that, I'm sure his intentions were good." I said, trying to word it in a way that wouldn't upset him. Sam moved away, probably knowing we should be alone. Jacob's eyes just slid down and he continued looking at the ground. "Jacob" I said, he looked up at me "Are you going to try and keep me here against my will?"
"No.." he said looking confused. All of a sudden his expression changed and he started shaking all over, and so did Sam. They exploded into a mass of ripped up clothing and stood in front of me growling, with there fur standing up. "What's going on?!" I asked, getting more scared by the second. Before I could blink, It felt like something hit me. Hard. Everything was a blur, it felt like i was driving with Edward, except faster. After a minute whatever was carrying me slowed down. Instead of being scared, I was furious only because we were standing in front of the Cullen's house. I was set down lightly then I spun around furiously. I tripped on my foot and fell face first to the ground. Great, just when I was trying to be mad. I looked up still mad, and expected to see Edward looking down at me laughing but instead I saw Alice with a worried expression. "Whats wrong?" I asked my anger melting away because of her serious face. "I  thought for sure you were dead." she said, her expression not changing a bit. She looked like she was about to cry. I wrapped my arms around her, and whispered into her ear, "What did you see?". She let go of me. "Let's go in the house, I'll explain in there." she said taking my hand and dragging me into the house. The second I walked in the door Edward was right in front of me. I pulled me into a tight hug and sighed in relief. Relief of what?! "What's going on?" I asked for the second time. "Alice saw you on your motorcycle driving home, and then she saw you get hit by an 18-wheeler." Edward said in his soft voice. Esme walked over to me and put her hand on my shoulder. "Bella, when she saw you in her vision, you fainted.. something bad must of happened with.. them." she said. "That's why Alice had to retrieve you so rudely, please understand, we didn't want to lose you." Just then Emmet walked in, looked at me and said "Hey look, Bella's alive! Your deaths just keep getting better and better!" He laughed loudly and went upstairs. "It's ok, I understand.." I said, still mad and disappointed that my talk with Jacob had to be cut short. "Edward, I don't mean to be rude.. but can we talk alone?" I said looking at him. He nodded and brought me upstairs to his room. He shut the door behind him as we walked in. I went and sat down on the couch. Edward sat beside me, picked me up and put me on his lap. He started to play with my hair while staring at nothing inperticular. I guessed that he was thinking about something. "Edward" I said. "Yes?" He replied, sounding as beautiful as ever. "Jacob said that he wasn't going to keep me there.. why would you lie about something like that?" He looked down at me and sighed. He started running his fingers through my hair. "I didn't want you.. around him anymore." he said "Why?" I asked, wanting more of an answer than that. "I was afraid that you would..." he didn't finish. "That I would what?" I asked turning around to face him. His eyes were closed. "I was afraid that you would leave me for him." he said opening his eyes. I looked up at him and said quietly "I would never do that...." he hugged me and whispered into my ear, "I know you wouldn't. He pulled me back and kissed me gently. "Come on, Charlie is probably worried.. seeing as how late it is." Charlie! I had forgotten about how late it was. I took out the silver cellphone, 10:45. I handed the cellphone back to Edward and he slipped it into his pocket. He held me by the waist and brought me out to his car. To my surprise my motorcycle was there, leaning against the wall. "Emmett got it." he said, answering my unasked question. I smiled at him as we got into the silver car. He drove like a normal person would.. about 10mph above the speed limit. He kept looking at me, and I got a little self conscious. "What?" I asked when he looked at me again. "Just making sure your not dead." he said, but he didn't laugh. I took his hand and we drove to my house in silence. It was still pouring when we pulled into the driveway. The cruiser still wasn't there, but Edward was in a rush so I knew he was coming. "See you later." He said smiling at me. I got out of the car and waved as he pulled out of the driveway speeding off into the distance. I walked into the house and the TV was still on. I left it on for when Charlie got home. He pulled into the driveway a couple seconds later. "Hi Bells." he said when he walked in the door. "Hi Dad, I'm going to go to bed.. I'm tired." I said, a little too quickly. He bought it though. "Okay. See you in the morning. " he said, walking into the living room, probably to watch another game. I walked up stairs and found Edward stretched out on my bed. I sat down beside him. "I'm going to go take a shower." I said. "Good, you smell." he said, laughing at my expression. "Do werewolves really smell that bad?" I asked him. "Like wet dog." he said. "Okay, see you in a minute." I said and I walked into the bathroom. I took my shower, got out and realized I hadn't brought a change of clothes with me. I sighed and wrapped a towel around myself and walked into my bedroom. "Wow Bella, warn me next time to decide to walk around naked." Edward said as I walked in. I looked at him and he was smiling. I stuck my tongue out at him, got my clothes and went back in the bathroom. I came back out in my old sweat pants and a t-shirt. Edward was still on the bed. I went over and sat beside him. He sat up and let me lay down. I got under the covers and looked at Edward. He smiled at me. "Edward.. can I asked you something?" I asked him. "Anything you want." he said. "..Um.. Can vampires get... pregnant..?" I asked stuttering a bit. Edward laughed loudly. Charlie mumbled something loudly. Edward stopped laughing and replied "No, they can't." he looked at me and brushed a strand of hair out of my face. "I think you should go to bed now." he said to me smiling "you've had a very exciting night." he chuckled. "I agree." I yawned loudly. Edward kissed me softly as I drifted off to sleep.
